Job Details:
The Physician Assistant will act as a health care provider who works in conjunction with the physicians in the hepatology/transplant department. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for conducting outpatient office sessions to assist in the care and treatment of helpatology patients. This includes evaluating patients and making treatment decisions based on the protocols set forth by the physician. Thie position requires the PA order and interpret diagnostic studies and provide patient/family education. The PA may be involved in research activities within the department. The PA is responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of Hahnemann.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Performance of history and physical examinations.
2. Attention to administrative and clinical detail.
3. Ability to prioritize, assess situation and act appropriately.
4. Clinical abilities as outlined below.
Training & Education:
- Graduation from PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Certification by NCCPA
- PA State licensure to practice as PA
Experienced in clinical hepatology practice or extensive experience as a physician assistant.
Required Licenses:
Must have successfully passed national certifying examination and be certified by NCCPA. Also must complete the requirements to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
