General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Entry-level Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our DSP Center of Excellence in our Scottsdale, AZ location. The position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. You will work with collaborative teams to secure clients information systems and their contents. You will have the opportunity to work with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), digital signal processors (DSP), and/or General Purpose Processors (GPPs) utilizing MATLAB/SIMULINK for system level design, modeling, and verification.
An entry-level knowledge of Signal Processing Algorithms and Embedded Real-time C++ development is required.
In this role the Entry-level DSP Engineer will be responsible for the following:
*.Basic understanding of communication theory with the ability to quickly understand complex processing algorithms
*.Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
*.Works as individual technical contributor but can integrate into a team environment
*.Working knowledge of software tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDE) like Eclipse or Visual Studio, as well as version control and defect reporting tools
*.Participates in internal review of software components and systems
*.Software development life-cycle model
*.Design responsibilities include most, if not all, phases of design:
*.including architecture and requirements development
*.preliminary and detail design
*.requirements verification and documentation
*.Effectively and efficiently work with other team members to include other design engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, project managers, customers and suppliers
*.Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or the equivalent experience is required
*.Entry-level knowledge of Signal Processing Algorithms and Embedded Real-time C++ development is required
*.0-2 years experience is required
*.Some travel may be required
