Job Details:
As a leading commercial property company, our Planning and Development Team works with a wide range of public and private sector clients including developers, pension funds and institutions. In collaboration with our agency and investment teams, we deliver consents for viable schemes, via a multi-disciplined approach.
This role offers the chance to work on a broad mix of projects for a range of commercial and residential uses that are both interesting and challenging. This role will be based in our Birmingham office, but will involve working with our Planning & Development teams across the region.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team of 10 other fee earners, who provide the full spectrum of planning consultancy, development consultancy and development agency advice to both the private and public sectors across the Midlands (both East and West).
Schemes that the Planning Team has recently advised on include:
*.Acting for Nurton Developments (Quintus) Ltd, we have secured outline planning permission for a sustainable urban extension to Burton for a scheme of 2,500 houses, 1 million sq ft of B Class employment and a local centre.
*.Acting for Skelton Group, we have secured outline planning permission for 925 houses and associated mixed development for the regeneration of Coseley Park, Dudley.
Specifically, we are looking for a town planner who has strong experience and knowledge of the residential sector and who will work closely with the director in the team who specialises in Residential Agency to grow this market sector.
*.Frame and deliver planning advice to achieve client's commercial objectives.
*.Day to day management of projects and clients.
*.Play a supporting and growing role in winning business.
*.Likely to take on specific business winning role as the planning contact for another part of the firm.
*.Mentoring, coaching and motivating other junior team members

*.Good professional writing skills with an ability to provide clear advice and a range of reports

*.MRTPI (or MRICS Planning & Development) qualified and demonstrated planning experience at post-qualification level of at least 4 years
*.Experience in preparing, submitting and negotiating a range of planning applications
*.Promotion of sites, particularly housing, through the plan-making process
