Duties:
Assist with developing and maintaining extensive user training and process documentation, reference guides and/or manuals in user formats, including development of video trainings of Finance business processes for use by users throughout the UA system. Develop and maintain office technical application and process documentation. Assist with website maintenance and development for the department.
Assist with Managing, coordinate, troubleshoot several finance operations for SW and/or the UA system on a wide variety of complex processes including but not limited to Accounts Payable functions, journal entry processing, mass feed document processing, Onbase issues related to Finance docs, fixed asset work, assisting with General Finance Banner Administration. Supervise Student Employees and coordinate their workloads to assist all SW Finance Departments.
Lead or assist with implementing new and/or improved Finance business processes in the position''s assigned finance specialty area and used throughout the UA system. This includes identifying opportunities for improving processes, performing research on best practices, business process analysis, data analysis, coordination of project needs assessment with users at various skill levels throughout UA, conduct needs assessment, match needs w UA goals, develop project plan, draft functional and technical specifications for reports and process development, follow developed project plans, understand project solutions, coordinate programming development with IT staff, test programming to ensure it meets specifications, prepare training materials and testing materials, and ensure the project is completed. Follow up with the users who requested the project to ensure customer satisfaction.
Assist with analyzing and evaluating current application and system functionality and programming with regards to the implementation of new financial systems releases, modifications, or technical changes. Identify possible affects and problems having an impact on critical University systems. Determine appropriate testing scenarios and debugging to ensure accurate and efficient operations. Perform and/or coordinate user testing. Coordinate with users and IT staff to finalize development.
Independently monitor, analyze, and research non-repetitive, complex problems with Finance business processes and applications, using knowledge of finance processes, multiple Finance system applications, the underlying database tables and data, and data extraction skills. Identify and implement short term and long term solutions (both technical and/or training) to resolve the problems. Schedule and monitor business processes and data output to identify errors and process problems in a timely manner. Confer with diverse user population in applying corrections to applications. Develop SQL scripting to find and fix errors created by users or by system defects. Report and track problems. If system defects, work with vendors and/or IT to provide long-term resolution. Provide technical assistance to other university personnel.
