Software Engineer II | Microsoft Redmond, WA, US

Job Details:
We are the PlayReady DRM team, part of the Windows Core Operating System division at Microsoft. We build digital content protection technologies (Microsoft PlayReady) that are an integral part of many Microsoft and non-Microsoft products. We make experiences like Movies & TV, Groove and most of the world’s most popular video streaming services possible!
Our goal is to enable secure delivery and consumption of premium video and experiences to consumers on all screens. Our platform integrates into media pipelines on Windows PCs, tablets, Phones, the Xbox console, and a variety of non-Microsoft products such as Smart TVs and set top boxes. If you want to join a consumer-focused platform group with massive cross division impact, where you will learn and play with Microsoft and non-Microsoft platforms, while gaining depth in the content protection space, then this is the team for you!
We are enabling 4K/UHD video playback on Windows devices - which requires the use of very sophisticated hardware backed security technology - and continually expanding digital audio and video consumption on our platforms. We have a lot of challenging problems to solve, the likes of which aren't easily found on other teams, and that require strong analytical skills, attention to details and a huge appetite to learn. Our technology spans from low-level SoC components to highly scalable services running on Azure. We are looking for a passionate engineer that can operate on all depths of the stack, with both native and managed code.

- A BS/MS in computer science, engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience developing software in C/C++/C#
