Job Details:
This is an exciting new role within the Journals Sales Team. With the support of the Open Access Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the promotion and sales of open access within the EMEA territory.
A core part of the role will include implementing the open access strategy throughout the region; the promotion, advocacy and sales of open access services to Higher Education institutions and the research community; as well as supporting the Open Access Sales Manager with larger projects. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales results and promote T&F’s OA brand.
A willingness to travel is essential.
Key Accountabilities
*. To work closely with the OA sales manager to increase revenue from APCs across the region, working towards set targets.
*.To follow the strategy in place that identifies opportunity for growth in the territory.
*.With support from the OA sales manager, to maintain and develop industry knowledge from across the region, including competitor research and customer profiling.
*.To maintain and develop relationships with key customers, including providing quotes and negotiating to increase revenue.
*.Undertaking data analysis to identify new opportunities, prospecting for potential new customers.
*.Attend customer meetings, T&F events and conferences to build relationships and disseminate T&F’s OA message.
*.Supporting the OA Sales Manager to produce sales proposals, including gathering and presenting data and information.
*.Produce regular reports on OA sales activities.
*.Support promotional activities externally and internally to maximize promotion and advocacy of OA.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of:
*.Academic publishing and the higher education market in the EMEA region
*.Ideally have previous Sales or Marketing experience
*.Have some knowledge of Open Access within the context of academic publishing
*.Proven track record of coordinating successful sales or marketing campaigns
*.Possess excellent organisation, presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills
*.To be a great communicator
*.To be able to build rapport quickly with internal and external stakeholders
*.Willingness to take the initiative
