Job Details:
Reporting to the National Director, Marketing & Communications, the Advancement Communications Specialist will be responsible for writing advancement communications materials and being a content expert in type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. S/he will write funding proposals, letters of inquiry, stewardship reports, newsletter articles, website content, speeches and/or speaking notes, video scripts and other materials as required. S/he will have the ability to think strategically but act tactfully. The Advancement Communications Specialist will have superior written communications skills and experience writing about complex health topics, honed in a medical, university or other technically complex setting. S/he will have the ability to develop creative content that sparks a donor’s imagination – aligning their interest with JDRF-funded research. With a strong grounding and understanding of fundraising processes, the ideal candidate will appreciate the impact and the importance of the written word to advancement success...
