Job Details:
Reporting to the Director of Faculty Operations this position is accountable for providing operational leadership and management for professional staff within the Student Academic Services and Engagement team.
This position presents the opportunity to develop and manage Academic Services, Student Services, including development, engagement and support activities to support students throughout the student lifecycle of prospect to graduate to maximise engagement, retention and to enhance the student experience
Key roles and responsibilities in the faculty:

Contribute to the development of strategic and annual operational plans for Student Services, Academic Services and Student Development and Engagement functions

Provide leadership, mentoring and direction for professional staff in those functions

Establish service level criteria that reflects both academic and student needs and ensures the provision of excellent services.

Implement efficient systems around the admission and enrolment of domestic and international students to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in order to achieve EFTS targets.

Provide direction and leadership to support the development of student engagement services to assist the academic progress and integration of students.
*.
Work collaboratively toward operational and strategic continuous improvement initiatives at University and Faculty level.

Prepare budgets in conjunction with Finance and manage across relevant department cost centres.

Understand the impact of changes and amendments to programmes and curriculum and the resulting implications.
*.
Responsibility for managing health, safety and wellness to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Engage in activities, projects, initiatives that promote and support Maori and equity aims of CAI
To be successful in this position you will hold a bachelor’s degree or a relevant tertiary qualification. You will be able to demonstrate proven administration and management experience in a large complex organisation. A proven and capable people manager you will be comfortable building teams and leading change. You will be highly proficient in using computerised systems including Microsoft Office, people management and financial systems.
As part of CAI’s collegial and supportive professional staff management team your proven ability to work creatively and in partnership with stakeholders and internal customers will be second nature. You will be able to build successful partnerships with academics and gain an understanding of key academic drivers.
