We are seeking a C++ Unix Developer with a minimum 5 years’ experience to join an established development team that writes, maintains and supports (Level 3) a mortgage trading desk. We supply the mortgage traders with analytics (grid computing), real-time pricing, trade capture, position and P&L services, real-time risk and overnight risk. We also supply their Operations staff with a mortgage pool allocation system. The opening is strictly a programming position and requires code creation, enhancement and correction on a daily basis with instruction from teammates or from the trading desk itself. We meet with the head trader weekly to make sure we are in-step with the desk’s priorities. Though we are looking for a strong object oriented C++ developer there are opportunities in the position to program in C#, Perl, Sybase and Java. The team is based in New York and has members in Montreal, Budapest and Bengaluru; the team meets weekly by video/conference call to discuss projects and issues around projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in finance and technology as it touches many of the front-office processes that trading desks depend on.
Qualifications
Skills required:
- Strong C++ skills on Unix platform.
- Object-oriented patterns/techniques.
- Exposure to multithreaded/conc urrent programming.
- Relational database experience is also a must.
Skills Desired:
- C# programming or the ability to pick it up.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or Windows from developer's perspective.
