Senior Design Engineer | Xilinx- Singapore

Job Details:
Xilinx is currently seeking a motivated self-starter to join the Digital Video Processing Group in the Programmable Platforms Development Department as a Senior Design Engineer. The successful applicant will work on the development of video communication products in various video markets, including Broadcast and Networked Video Systems.
This is a key position in a growing market for Xilinx, with high visibility and influence future products in the Broadcast and Professional Video markets. This role will be responsible for developing FPGA-based intellectual property hardware using Xilinx FPGAs from conception to implementation to address the needs of customers transferring digital video via various video interfaces such as HDMI/TS/SDI over multi-Gigabit Ethernet networks using AVB and SMPTE standards.
The successful applicant should be able to perform the following key activities:
Design Implementation
*.Work efficiently and with agility to implement designs (e.g., RTL coding, synthesis, conversion, integration, verification)
*.Write elegant, efficient code for devices or tools that avoid costly, overly complex solutions
*.Exercise solid analytical problem solving in troubleshooting component designs (e.g., timing analysis, constraint setting)
*.Able to run and implement designs (e.g., debugging, digital and analog design, circuit design, RTL signal flow, basic TCL coding, and timing tool basics)
*.Accurately documents and effectively communicates the rational for a design to design implementation stakeholders (e.g., peer reviews, Technical Solution Groups, management)Verification and Validation
*.Create verification plans at the block level
*.Understand protocols and standards associated with products
*.Collaborate with other hardware and software groups to ensure effective component integration within the larger system
*.Support Applications Engineering in debugging customer issues
*.Troubleshoot component blocks as required to ensure milestone achievement and production-ready integration (e.g., specifications, performance, standards)
*.When required, create environment and infrastructure to test designs in a HW verification environment, and running test scenariosSystem Development and assessment
*.Prototype and evaluate many competing implementations
*.Exercise strong analytical problem solving in block-level design (e.g., timing closure, area reduction, power optimization)
*.Accurately documents and effectively communicates design decisions and rationale
*.Assesses proposed component features to help determine cost-effectiveness and feasibility
*.Provide input to system architects in shaping and formalizing component roadmaps, resource needs, and milestones
*.Able to analyze how all the elements of a design solution fit together
*.Able to perform an End to End System performance analysis
*.Able to evaluate internal and 3rd party IP solutions against requirements
*.Assesse proposed component features to help determine cost-effectiveness and feasibility
*.Provide input in shaping and formalizing component roadmaps, resource needs, and milestones
*.Present design decisions in a constructive and professional way before peers and direct management
*.Able to interact with customers directly when required
Qualifications:
