Regulatory Analyst (Compliance) | RBC- London

Job Details:
PURPOSE
To ensure that the RBC Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Global Asset Management and Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) businesses operating in Europe are informed of relevant regulatory changes and developments (including enforcement actions, industry guidance / best practice) on a timely basis and so are able to comply with new, or changing, conduct of business obligations and regulatory expectations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
*.Performing 'horizon scanning' to identify regulatory developments which will, or may, impact RBC UK's businesses.
*.Producing detailed analyses of identified regulatory developments, working as necessary with the Advisory teams and other subject matter experts to clarify the likely impact on RBC UK's businesses.
*.Producing accurate, succinct and tailored presentations for a range of stakeholders highlighting material external developments and anticipated internal impact.
*.Producing the relevant content in respect of UK / European regulatory developments for internal reporting.
*.Contributing to preparation for, and presenting at, weekly regulatory updates for key Compliance stakeholders.
*.Contributing to project delivery, providing advice to the implementation teams in respect of regulatory requirements as they evolve: attending working groups where the scope and scale of the change requires ongoing involvement on a regular basis.
*.Working with the other members of the group to implement team strategy: contributing ideas for, and assisting in the operationalization of, changes to the operating model. This will require consideration of: involvement in all stages of the 'regulatory lifecycle'; identification of opportunities to leverage work undertaken by other teams within RBC in addressing regulatory change; streamlining the reporting process; identification of learning opportunities for the team to ensure that 'horizon scanning' focuses on those developments likely to be of greatest relevance given RBC's business model in the UK.
*.Participating in / contributing to industry discussions on regulatory policy developments through attendance at meetings of / review of papers from, market associations (BBA, AFME, ICMA and FOA).

• Part of Group Compliance function: no specific authorities assigned.

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Required
*.Knowledge of the European and UK regulatory regime;
*.Experience of working with regulatory change: this may have been gained in an analyst, advisory or project management capacity;
*.Demonstrable ability to distil key points from large volumes of information and to tailor presentation of summaries to a variety of audiences...
