As a Product Quality Associate you defend the integrity of Google, its users and partners worldwide by defining and communicating product policies, fighting spam, fraud, and abuse across Google products (Google Search, Google Maps, AdWords, AdSense, Google Checkout, Google Product Search). You are proactive, motivated, organized, responsible, innovative--and able to work well in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional, and team-oriented environment while demonstrating technical know-how, effective communication and getting things done.
The Quantitative Analysts on the PQO team are passionate about data, have an investigative mindset and a flair for spotting patterns and trends. They protect the integrity of Google’s key products and Google’s users, by investigating financial fraud, account related abuse, questionable business practices, violations of Google’s policies and general misuse of our products. They work with dynamic analytical techniques and leverage custom-built technology to directly impact and improve the experience of millions of Google’s users. They have a user-first philosophy, comfortably navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, global and cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
*.Excel at product policy enforcement on known spam and risk related patterns and manual investigations
*.Identify new or emerging patterns and build operational processes to proactively handle them
*.Build scale and efficiency through automation and intelligence and drive workflow improvements
*.Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Engineering, Sales, and Legal to increase automation, update policies, fix product loopholes, and provide a better online experience for our users.
Minimum qualifications
*.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences or equivalent practical experience.
*.2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred qualifications
*.BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related discipline.
*.Experience with fraud investigations, fraud risk management, Internet advertising, or e-commerce.
*.Knowledge/experience with one coding and/or scripting language (e.g. C/C++, Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Perl, or PHP) and of database structures and/ or working with Unix/Linux.
*.Solid understanding of how the Internet works economically, socially, and technically, and an interest in innovation, technology, and Google products.
*.Strong communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team...
